<p class="ox-03b6bbe12e-msonormal" CIC is involved in numerous activities aimed at preventing the production of organic waste and promoting quality separate waste collection so that organic waste can effectively be recovered in organic treatment plants. To this end, as well as constantly monitoring the quality of organic waste entering composting plants – or integrated anaerobic digestion and composting plants – it has devised quality programmes and developed partnerships with numerous national and international associations.

In 2003, CIC set up the voluntary programme Marchio Compost di Qualità CIC (CIC Quality Compost Mark), which carries out continual checks on the product to attest to the quality of the organic fertilizers produced in the companies belonging to the Association.

2006 saw the establishment of the Marchio Compostabile CIC (CIC Compostable Mark), a service provided to plants belonging to the Association that today guarantees the objective compostability of biodegradable objects during the recovery of organic waste in composting plants on an industrial scale.

Today, in addition to the activities linked to the quality of matrices and products, CIC is constantly engaged in numerous initiatives aimed at achieving the targets set by the European Union within the framework of the Circular Economy package recently approved.
